Curiosity

While I got busy with work, A Work that deals with crunching numbers and touching extremes of what a commodity software can do, I encountered with a fundamental question from a 7 Year old.
What is a byte?
Well, it is a basic thing for a software engineer, but how do you explain this to a 7 Year old kid?.
I'm surprised at how simple the answer can be... Each alphabet is a byte, so your name which has 7 letters is 7 bytes. Well the little girl is convinced :)
